The iconic Saarinen table design is pleasant, simple and distinctive. The structural design is clean and built with only two parts as a round or oval table and a bright round tapering pedestal. The upper part is usually made of materials as the white marble and white fiberglass and the base is made of lacquered aluminium finish abrasionresistant rilsan or enamel coating of polyurethane (in the case of base Platinum). Designer Eero Saarinen submitted this contemporary design clearly wanting to clear up the slum of legs of the appliance and make a bottom perfectly clean.
Later, the design began to grow in popularity and is now one of vanguard in the world stand accessories. However, there are a lot of duplicate parts of the Saarinen dining table available in the market, which could easily mislead customers. To recognize a genuine part of the shop here are 5 important things you need to see.
Check the top and Base
The table must have only two parts such as the top and the base of the pedestal. The upper part can be laminated, veneer, wood, natural granite or marble coated or natural, considering that the base has to be made of die-cast aluminium with a coating available in three colours like white, black or Platinum. If you find any material of plastic, then certainly it is not a true table.
Check the marble close
It has a close to marble top look if it is a white marble with gray vein pattern or not. There are many duplicate there brands that try to copy the pattern but used a less expensive marble. Remember that it is the original Arabescato marble Carrara marble is considered to be low-quality cheaper. You would not be able to distinguish between them since they are quite similar in appearance. However, the only difference that you can find is Carrara marble has relatively more blurred grains.

Examine the precise measurement
Use a tape measure and measure across the dining table. In what regards the standard measure, the dining table total including the base and the top should come 28 ¼ inches high. The round lid measures 5 different diameters as 35 ¾ inches, 42 ½ inches, 47 ¼ inch, 54-inch and 60-inch. Similarly if it is an oval dining table, the top (in the two widest points) should be measured nor 78 x 47 ¾ inch or 96 inches, 54.
Verify the signature Eero Saarinen
You can look at the bottom of the top if the signing of the Eero fits there. The signature is a chrome plate consisting of "Knoll Studio" with the year 1956. Duplicate parts have similar types of registration, but they announced it as "Saarinen style" or "Hill".
If you find that the table did not meet one or all the above criteria, then be sure that it is a fake.
